Holdjer Decarvalho, age 22, of Fall River, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-195 in Westport on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 24, the Bristol County District Attorney's Office reports.
Decarvalho, who was the only person in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle burst into flames, the office continues.
"You were ready to start your life and take on this crazy, massive, unfair world by storm and make it your own," Decarvalho's sister Chuelsia said on Facebook. "I love you my baby brother. 22 years was not enough time to show you just how much, but I’ll work everyday to make you as proud of me as I have always been of you."
Born in Brockton, Decarvalho graduated from Dean College in Franklin with a degree in Criminal Justice & Homeland Security, his obituary reads. He also played volleyball while at college.
"You brought so much light and life into every room you walked into," his sister continued. "You left a mark on this world that can never be erased, dulled, or forgotten."
In addition to his sister, Decarvalho is survived by his other siblings Nelson and Nathan as well as his parents, according to his obituary. More information about his services can be found online.
